Ambreine

About

Ambreine is a classic perfumery amber base/accord—rich, resinous, and sweet-balsamic—built around labdanum and vanillic facets with soft, powdery and slightly leathery warmth; despite the name, it is distinct from ambrein (the odorless ambergris precursor). It evokes glowing, honeyed resins and velvety warmth. Perfumers use ambreine to structure ambery/oriental themes and to add long-lasting depth and diffusion, blending seamlessly with benzoin, opoponax, vanilla or tonka, patchouli, incense, and musks as a fixative and a softening anchor.
