Australian Blue Cypress

Australian blue cypress is a dry, clean woody note with soft cedar and balsamic-resin facets, a faint camphoraceous/tea-like freshness and a subtle honeyed-vanillic warmth that can read slightly smoky or leathery in the drydown. It evokes open eucalyptus-tinted bushland and a gently smoldering wood fire rather than a sweet, creamy wood. In perfumery it is used as a long-lasting heart/base wood to add an airy, modern cedar accord and soft smoky depth, often as a sustainable alternative to heavier woods; it blends smoothly with citrus, florals, spices, resins, vetiver, sandalwood and incense to round fougères, aromatics and woody-oriental compositions.
