About
Datura is a nocturnal white floral that smells opulent and narcotic, with honeyed, creamy jasmine-like facets laced with green, spicy and slightly tobacco- or almond-tinged undertones that can verge on animalic or inky leather in richer expressions. It evokes sultry, night-blooming gardens—intoxicating, mysterious and a little dangerous. In perfumery datura is used to deepen and darken white-floral hearts and oriental bases, adding a narcotic warmth and tenacity; it pairs well with tobacco, vanilla, labdanum, spices and incense to create enigmatic, nocturnal accords.
