About
Fur is a plush, animalic note that evokes the warmth of a pelt—soft, musky, and slightly leathery—with waxy, powdery, and faintly sweet facets that can feel intimate, cozy, and subtly smoky. In perfumery it is a constructed accord: historically touched by castoreum, civet, and costus, but today built with modern musks, ambered resins, suede/leather materials, labdanum, and aldehydes, used as a base to wrap florals and ambers, enrich leathers and chypres, and impart a strokable, retro-glamour depth.
