About
Honeybush (Cyclopia), the South African fynbos tea note, smells warmly honeyed and sunlit: mellow nectar with soft floral pollen, apricot/stone-fruit and caramel-vanilla facets over gentle hay, woody and faintly spicy tea nuances; smoother and less tannic than black tea and without the animalic edge of true honey. Perfumers use it to impart a golden, comforting tea sweetness that bridges florals, woods and gourmands, rounding blends and suggesting beeswaxed warmth; it shines in tea accords and ambery-woody or oriental-gourmand styles, pairing beautifully with osmanthus, mimosa, broom, immortelle, vanilla, tonka and tobacco.
