Ionones

Ionones are aromatic molecules with a soft, powdery violet character layered over subtle woody, fruity and balsamic facets, evoking pressed violet petals, iris-like powder, and a gentle, skin-warm sweetness. In perfumery they are used to recreate and amplify violet and orris accords, add powdery floralcy or plummy facets, and serve as middle-to-base modifiers and longevity boosters across florals, chypres, orientals and fougères, typically at low concentrations.
