About
Karo-Karounde (Leptactina senegambica) is a rare West African white-flower note with a fiercely narcotic, indolic character that bridges jasmine, tuberose, and gardenia, threaded with green-herbal, spicy, leathery, and smoky-tobacco nuances; it can feel creamy yet medicinal, slightly mushroomy and dusty, evoking tropical night air and sun-warmed scrub. Perfumers use it in minute amounts to deepen and darken white-floral hearts, add animalic tension to chypres, leathers, and orientals, and lend exotic depth to woody-amber bases; it harmonizes especially well with jasmine, ylang-ylang, narcissus, orange blossom, spices, patchouli, labdanum, vetiver, and moss.
