Larch is a coniferous note with airy, terpenic freshness—crisp pine-needle and resin-sap facets rounded by gentle balsamic sweetness, a faint lemony lift, and dry, sun-warmed wood that evokes high alpine forests and golden autumn groves. Subtly resinous and slightly camphoraceous, it feels clean yet woody-green. Used as a bright, green-woody modifier in fougère, chypre, and woody-aromatic compositions, it bridges sparkling citrus tops with resinous bases, adds lift to pine and fir accords, and pairs well with cedar, juniper, vetiver, incense, and labdanum.
