Mimusops elengi (also called bakul or Spanish cherry) is a tropical white-floral note with a creamy, honeyed sweetness, ripe banana-apple fruitiness, a faint green undertone, and a soft powdery, balsamic-woody drydown that evokes moonlit garlands and tranquil temple courtyards. Used sparingly in perfumery—traditionally via attars or more often as reconstructed accords—it enriches exotic floral bouquets and tropical compositions, blending seamlessly with sandalwood, jasmine, ylang-ylang, and champaca to impart velvety opulence and a gently fruity, powdery heart.
