Mistletoe in perfumery reads as a cool, evergreen green: a soft, herbaceous-leafy accord with balsamic, slightly woody and subtly sweet-resinous facets that suggest frosted branches, damp forest undergrowth and the intimate, wintry romance associated with the plant. Because true botanical extracts are uncommon, perfumers recreate mistletoe with blends of pine or fir balsam, laurel, oakmoss and creamy or almond-like facets to lend a frosted, mysterious green heart to seasonal, woody or oriental compositions, where it lifts florals and deepens bases with a chilly, romantic green veil.
