Mulberry has a juicy, dark-berry profile—between blackberry and raspberry—with jammy sweetness, a tart winey bite, and faint leafy-woody and musky undertones that conjure late-summer hedgerows and purple-stained fingers. In perfumery it is usually a built accord rather than a true extract, used in fruity florals, gourmands, and modern chypres to add jammy depth to rose or patchouli, sharpen top notes with tangy brightness, and bridge seamlessly into soft woods and musks.
