Neoprene is an abstract, synthetic accord that mimics wetsuit rubber: smooth, rubbery-plastic, slightly tarry and inky, with a cool, faintly salty-ozonic facet that can evoke scuba gear, pool tiles, or new inner tubes. Perfumers use it sparingly to impart a futuristic, sporty, urban edge—sharpening leather themes, texturizing marine accords, and adding sleek “second-skin” modernity when paired with ozonic notes, clean musks, ambers, woods, or bright citrus.
