About
Oak leaves have a dry, green aroma that leans leathery and slightly bitter, with papery, twiggy facets and a faint mossy–resinous undercurrent that conjures sun‑warmed bark and autumn woodland air. It reads less floral than other green notes, offering an astringent, tannic edge that feels earthy and slightly rugged. Perfumers use oak-leaf accords as a rustic green backbone or bridging element in chypres, fougères and woody compositions, where it reinforces oakmoss, vetiver, galbanum and leather or adds autumnal, forest‑floor realism when paired with smoky, resinous or woody notes.
