About
Polygonum is a green, peppery‑herbaceous note with a sharp, slightly metallic bite and a coriander‑like, citrusy spice; it can also suggest crushed riverbank leaves or a cool, watery green accord. In perfumery it is used sparingly as a top‑to‑heart modifier to add fresh, peppery clarity and herbal complexity to fougères, aromatics, chypres and fresh aquatics, pairing well with bergamot, lavender, galbanum, black pepper, vetiver and light woods.
