Ravensara is the Madagascar leaf oil traditionally called Ravensara aromatica, with a bright, sweet‑anisic and green aroma that hints of basil, tarragon, clove and soft woods, evoking sun‑warmed leaves and a gently spicy, clean breeze; it is not to be confused with the more camphoraceous ravintsara. In perfumery it serves as a top‑to‑heart modifier that lends luminous anise lift and herbal clarity, bridging citrus to spices and woods in aromatic fougères, fresh spicy and green‑tea accords, and soft orientals, and is typically used sparingly due to its intensity.
