Styrax

About

Styrax is a warm, balsamic resin note with sweet, vanillic-amber facets and a subtle smoky, cinnamon-like and leathery undertone; it smells like honeyed incense or aged ambergris warmed by resinous wood. In perfumery it functions as a rich base and fixative, used to add creamy sweetness, balsamic depth and longevity to oriental, amber and woody compositions and to bridge floral or spice accords down into a warm, resinous drydown.
