ABOUT
Ambrinol is an ambergris-associated aroma chemical with a salty, marine-animalic odor, blending sea-spray, iodine and seaweed tones with warm skin, damp driftwood, smoky-tobacco and soft leather facets; at high concentration it can smell slightly fecal or fishy. Used only in minute traces, it imparts naturalistic ambergris depth, lift and diffusion, acting as a fixative-bridge that enriches marine, woody, chypre, leather, tobacco and certain floral accords, smoothing citrus edges and amplifying musks, labdanum and woods.
CATEGORY · MUSKY & AMBERY
The musky and ambery fragrance note category is characterized by warm, sensual, and often rich aromas that evoke a sense of depth and comfort. Musk typically features a soft, animalistic scent profile that can be both earthy and sweet, while amber blends resinous, balsamic notes with hints of vanilla and spice, creating a warm and enveloping aura. Common examples of scents in this category include white musk, which is clean and powdery, and ambergris, a more complex, marine-influenced musk. Together, these notes often serve as base elements in perfumes, providing longevity and a comforting warmth that enhances other fragrance components.
