ABOUT
Laotian oud is agarwood from Laos, prized for a smoother, fruit-forward profile: dark plum and blackberry jam over honeyed balsams, polished woods, and gentle incense smoke, with hints of leather, cocoa, and damp earth. Compared with Hindi-style ouds, it is less barnyard and more vinous, resinous, and sweetly balsamic. In perfumery it serves as a luxurious base note used sparingly to impart depth, mystery, and longevity, beautifully anchoring rose, saffron, amber, incense, and spice accords. It enriches woody, amber, and floral-oud compositions with a velvety, smoky-fruity glow.
CATEGORY · WOODY
Woody notes are characterized by their warm, rich, and grounding qualities, often evoking the essence of forests and nature. Common scents in this category include cedarwood, sandalwood, vetiver, and oakmoss, each contributing a distinct depth and complexity to fragrances. These notes are frequently used in both men’s and women’s perfumes, providing a strong base that enhances floral, spicy, or citrus notes, and creating a sense of tranquility and sophistication.
